2021 Mitchelton Estate Single Vineyard Marsanne
WINE PROFILE
93 points – Silver – 2025 Halliday Wine Companion
Brings the grape’s herbals and florals to the fore in jasmine, acacia and cress with preserved lemon and quince. The grape’s naturally modest acidity is on high alert – a good cellaring sign – but what really captures the tastebuds is the dusty lemon, ginger, lightly savoury middle palate and finish. Do not over-chill. – Jeni Port
2021 Mitchelton Estate Marsanne displays deep straw colours in the glass. Intense aromas of pastry, lime and lillies, supported by ironstone minerality. The palate is full, showcasing a symbiotic synergy between the minerality, yeast and acidity with an elegant clean mineral finish. The natural balanced acidity will enable this wine to cellar and will age gracefully over the coming decade. Best servied with creamy chicken or seafood dishes such as a rich, buttery lobster.
