Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi collection: Ancestral Method Riesling 2021

WINE PROFILE

Situated behind the picturesque Goulburn River precinct near Nagambie, Mitchelton winery is home to Australias largest commercial Aboriginal art gallery, The Mitchelton Gallery of Aboriginal Art, which currently features Gabriellas Possum Nungurrayi works.

Featuring the talented artists’ original works on a range of limited wines all produced from fruit sourced across three of Mitcheltons vineyards – in Nagambie, Yarra Valley and Heathcote.

Gabriellas use of colour is some of the most vivid, and her strong connection to Country and her father, with whom she would paint, wander and share stories, are depicted in painted stories such as Bush Tucker, Womens Ceremonies and Seven Sisters Dreaming.

TASTING NOTES

This wine has been fermented in this bottle and is therefore turbid in nature as it includes the yeast lees. The wine should be gently mixed prior to serving cold to homogenise these lees through the bottle. Complex aromas of tropical fruits, and the savoury brioche notes of yeast autolysis. The wine is very light in body, a fine mousse, and complex champagne like savoury flavours on the finish. This preservative free wine should be enjoyed youthful and fresh.
