The Cellar Door

Mitchelton Cellar Door to reopen its doors to all wine lovers.

In accordance with government restrictions easing, we are pleased to announce our Cellar Door will re-open to visitors from Thursday 4th June 2020.

During this next stage, our opening hours will be Monday to Sunday from 10.00am – 4.00pm. We will be offering a warm welcome, education and take away wine sales only with 20 people permitted within the cellar door premises at any one time. Rest assured, that the premises have also been thoroughly sanitised and surfaces will be cleaned with commercial grade disinfectant throughout the day. We are however unable to offer over the counter wine tastings until further notice.

When you pop by the Cellar Door, we do request the following:

• Maintain good hygiene by using the hand sanitiser provided at entry

• Practice safe social distancing of 1.5 metres

• Adhere to the entry and exit doors which will be clearly signed

• Purchase your wine by card only

• Provide your name and phone number for the visitor registry which will be kept on file for 28 days to assist with contact tracing should it be required

During closure, we have taken the opportunity to develop some exciting new mixed winemaker packs, dust off our museum wines ready for release, introduce the new Preece Generations Wine Club and of course, cared for our current vintage release wines.

If you are unable to visit us, don’t worry, you can still shop all your favourite Mitchelton and Preece wines, gift vouchers and wine club memberships online.

We thank you for your support over this challenging time. We look forward to seeing you again and sharing our stories, region and wines with passion and love.

COVID-19 Update

Monday 25th May 2020

Following a temporary site-wide closure due to COVID-19 we are pleased to announce Mitchelton will begin to reopen from Monday 1 June, beginning with the Cellar Door and the Hotel on Thursday 4 June, and The Muse Restaurant on Friday 5 June. The Provedore, Day Spa and Gallery of Aboriginal Art remain closed until further notice. We will continue to provide updates on business openings and trading hours as they are confirmed. We would like to thank you for your continued support during this challenging time and we look forward to welcoming you back to this little corner of Victoria soon.

Mitchelton is actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic whilst taking active steps to ensure guests and staff stay safe. All Victorian hospitality venues are regulated and governed by the Victorian Food Act 1984. A major part of this Act is personal hygiene standards which Mitchelton practise and apply in our day to day roles.

In addition to this, Mitchelton has increased our vigilance around housekeeping standards and all front of house services. We are partnered with NV Chemicals Australia and are using recommended products to ensure the safety of our guests and team.

Mitchelton is committed to transparency and will ensure any potential cases of contamination are communicated with the correct authorities as required. Furthermore, we have implemented a strict 2-week self-quarantine for team members showing any symptoms of the virus with a certified medical clearance required prior to returning to work.

Our Guests
We ask all guests to please wash your hands frequently with either an alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap. If you have symptoms of a fever, cough or cold please contact the health direct hotline on 1800 022 222 and quarantine yourself until further instruction is given from the hotline or until you are given certified medical clearance. Stay informed via: www.health.gov.au.

Updates to Policies
We have made the considered decision to temporarily waive postponement fees. We understand this matter is out of all parties control and we do not believe in penalising anyone for short term financial gains.

Mitchelton believes in social responsibility and our hope is that in most instances we will experience postponements as opposed to cancellations. As a result, we will support our valued corporate and private guests to ensure we continue to build strong and trusting relationships across the Mitchelton property.

Help Us
As we all ride through these challenging times; we ask you to continue to support the local hospitality and tourism industry by making informed decisions. We ask you to also consider supporting us here at Mitchelton through visitation to our beautiful estate or by shopping our range of regional wines online HERE.

Thank you for your support and understanding,

The Mitchelton Management Team
